▼ Second edition of Handbook on Central Government debt statistics released   [12-24-15]

Second Edition of the “Handbook on Statistics on Central Government Debt” has been released on 23rd December by the Middle Office of the DEA. The handbook is also available at the Finance Ministry website. This edition contains time-series data covering outstanding debt, primary issuance of bills and bonds, and secondary market transactions in government securities in 16 tables. MO is the independent debt management office of DEA.

▼ The Presidential Retreats of India, a book presented by India’s president   [12-22-15]

President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee has presented a copy of the book on Rashtrapati Nilayam Secunderabad to Shri ESL Narasimhan, Governor of AP and Telangana. The book titled ‘The Presidential Retreats of India’ which features the Rashtrapati Nilayam and The Retreat at Mashobra was commissioned by the President’s Secretariat and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA). It has been published by Publications Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Book was formally released on 11th December 2015.

▼ Book on S.C.Bose launched by grand niece Madhuri Bose   [12-18-15]

A book entitled “The Bose Brothers and Indian Independence: An Insider’s Account” was released by the grand niece of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Madhuri Bose. This book was released on November 1, 2015 and came into news when a copy of it was presented to PM Narendra Modi on 17th December. It portrays the iconic life and times of Subash and Sarat Chandra Bose.

Indian origin writer J.M. Sali has been declared the winner of the South East Asia Write Award. He has several literary awards to his credit and this includes the Cultural Medallion from Singapore. The author has written over 80 plays, 57 books and 400 short stories.

▼ Book released on Sharad Pawar’s 75th birthday   [12-14-15]

Veteran Maratha strongman and politician Sharad Pawar, the leader of NCP celebrated his 75th birthday with a launch of a book entitled “ On my Own Terms: From the Grassroots to the Corridors of Power.” Sharad Pawar was born in Baramati tehsil in the year 1940. He has been CM 4 times. He also held cabinet minister portfolios in numerous Congress Governments.

▼ Two books on Indian presidents released by PM Narendra Modi   [12-14-15]

President of India, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee received first copy of the book “Selected Speeches of the President” Vol III and “Presidential Retreats” at a December 11, 2015 function from PM Modi who released the books. While the former book has been published by Publications Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the latter by a commission from the President’s Secretariat and IGNCA.
