▼ Delhi state government named farmer compensation scheme after Gajender Singh   [04-13-15]

The government has also decided to give job to a member of Gajendra's family and martyr status for him, as demanded by the farmer's kin. According to officials, the government will distribute compensation to rain-hit farmers from next week.

▼ 4 new tehsils created in 3 UP districts   [04-13-15]

In a cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow on 28th Apr’15 Martinganj in Azamgarh, Goverdhan in Mathura district, Pali and Madwara in Lalitpur district have been made new Tehsils.

▼ Indian government signs framework agreement with NSCN (IM)   [04-13-15]

The agreement was signed by Joint Secretary, Home Shambhu Singh and Wangtin Konyak and P.Tikhak co-convenors of NSCN/R. The Ceasefire will remain in force for one year from 28th Apr’15. Government has also extended the ceasefire with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khole-Kitovi) for a further period of one year.

▼ 9000 NGO Licenses cancelled by Central Government for failure to file returns   [04-13-15]

In an order, the Ministry of Home Affairs said, the registration of the NGOs that had neither filed their annual returns for three years nor given any explanation for the delay, stood cancelled with immediate effect. The Ministry has also directed the district magistrate concerned to manage the assets of these NGOs in any manner considered necessary and in public interest. The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act requires every registered NGO to submit its returns annually, irrespective of whether it received foreign funding in that year.

Located on Talkatora Road in Zone-D of the Master Plan 2021, these 14 flats are constructed by CPWD in a Ground + seven story ‘Y’ shaped block. The cost of the project was Rs. 28.42 crores.

Maharashtra government told the Bombay High Court that it is not a fundamental right of a citizen to eat beef and the state legislation can regulate consumption of flesh of animals.

The incident occurred when the rally was going on in the presence of AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders. The man was immediately rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The farmer who attempted suicide was from Dausa in Rajasthan.

▼ 16 years new age limit for penalties for heinous crimes: Union Cabinet   [04-4-15]

Union Cabinet has approved lowering of age of juveniles from eighteen to sixteen years for heinous crimes. It cleared the amendment to the Juvenile Justice Act in this regard during a meeting in New Delhi this evening. Official sources said that the amendment seeks to try juvenile in the age group of 16 to 18 years as adults for heinous crimes.

Haryana government had announced on April 13 it would give Ramdev the status of cabinet minister. He was earlier made the state’s brand ambassador to promote yoga and Ayurveda.

A division bench of chief justice Dr DY Chandrachud and Justice Narain Shukla passed the judgment on a PIL, seeking direction to make available food security and ration cards to the transgender including their column as male/female/third gender.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) elected senior politburo member Sitaram Yechury as the new General Secretary replacing Prakash Karat who has completed his three terms as the Party General Secretary.

▼ Odisha opposes NALCO disinvestment   [04-3-15]

The Centre holds 87.15 per cent stake in NALCO, which has plants in Odisha’s Damanjodi and Angul. Chief Minister of Odisha and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president, Naveen Patnaik,on 15th Apr’15 opposed any move of divestment of public sector undertaking (PSU) National Aluminium Company (NALCO) by the Centre. He said that there is no need of any disinvestment from NALCO, as the company has been making profits for long.

▼ Navalawala Committee appointed to examine issue of river inter-linking   [04-3-15]

The Task Force will take up all issues for expediting the work on interlinking of rivers in the Country. The task force will facilitate interlinking of intra-state and intra-basin Rivers also along with that of inter-state and inter-basin links. The Task Force will also provide guidance on norms of appraisal of individual projects in respect of economic viability, socio-economic, environmental impacts and preparation of resettlement plans.
