Brazilian prosecutors say a kickback scheme at Petrobras is the country's biggest graft case yet, with at least 800 million dollar paid by construction and engineering firms in bribes to politically appointed former executives at the oil company, all in exchange for winning inflated contracts.

The government said that Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW) Germany has agreed to provide a concessional loan of 1 billion Euro.

The three European countries followed suit days after the UK became the first Western nation to join the bank disregarding reservations expressed by the US which raised concerns over its transparency. With joining of these countries, the total number of the bank's member states including India has gone up to 30. State-run Xinhua news agency quoted top officials of France, Germany and Italy as confirming their participation in the 50 billion dollar investment bank floated last year by President Xi Jinping.

▼ RBI forms Currency Swap Agreement with Sri Lanka   [03-28-15]

The Reserve Bank of India has entered a $1.5 billion currency swap agreement with the central bank of Sri Lanka. It will help keep the Sri Lankan rupee stable. Sri Lanka rupee has been under pressure since early January and fallen around 1.5 percent so far this year despite the central bank defended it with selling dollars.
