▼ INS Anagh, a Fast Patrol Vessel was commissioned on 29thMarch 2015 by Lt. Governor of Puducherry   [03-30-15]

ICGS Anagh has been designed and built by Cochin Shipyard and is capable of undertaking multifarious tasks such as surveillance, interdiction, search and rescue and medical evacuation. The Lt. Governor of Puducherry - Lt.Gen. Ajay Kumar Singh, (Retd.) commissioned the fast patrol vessel ICGS Anagh and two interceptor boats at Chennai on 29th Mar’15.

Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, PRAGATI. The ambitious platform also aims at monitoring and reviewing important programmes and projects of the Centre and States. The platform also offers a unique combination in the direction of cooperative federalism since it brings at one stage the Secretaries of Government of India and the Chief Secretaries of the States. From now onwards, such interaction will be held once in every month on Fourth Wednesday at 3.30 PM which will be known as PRAGATI Day.

▼ Shaheen III surface to surface missile successfully tested by Pakistan   [03-28-15]

Pakistan has test-fired a ballistic missile that can deliver a nuclear warhead to any part of India, and even as far away as Israel. The Shaheen-III missile with a range of up to 2,700 kilometres is an updated version of the indigenously produced Shaheen-I and Shaheen-II.

On 9th mar’15 Solar Impulse-2 took off from Abu Dhabi on its 5-month long journey in which it will skip from continent to continent, crossing both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans in the process. Andre Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard are the two pilots of this mission.

The U.S. Space Agency’s Dawn has taken 7.5 years to reach its destination. Ceres is the first of the dwarf planets to be visited by a spacecraft.

The Indian Space Research Organisation has postponed the launch of India’s fourth Navigation Satellite IRNSS-1D onboard PSLV-C27. The launch was originally scheduled for 9th Mar’15 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
