Can I withdraw the notice I served to leave the organization?

Asked by: Guest - 19 Aug 16
I am working as an email executive and wanted to leave the organization due to some family circumstances and served the notice period of 3 months as per our company rules. But, as the things resolved gradually, I have applied to withdraw my notice and continue my service with the organization. Would my withdrawal plea be accepted?

The notice term is usually signed to benefit both the employee and the company. This time can be used by the company to retain a potential employee who can benefit the company and for the employee, they can use this period to withdraw their notice term or search an alternative job if the notice is given by the company. With this clause, the withdrawing of notice served could be well accepted.

But, the employee should remember that they should have a valid reason to serve notice and also for withdrawing the same. The company has every right to seek an explanation for taking back the notice. The performance of the employee would also be considered for their retention. Though there is a fair chance for the organization to accept the continuation of services of the employee, still the final decision remains with the HR department.
