Skills required for a successful chef.

I want to become chef and applying for various courses in culinary arts. What are the skills required for a good chef, the qualities that I need to put forth in case of any interview.

As the name suggests, Culinary arts is more of an art instead of a science or profession. It is the hidden talent within the individual which gets a flair with the knowledge of advanced techniques and process. The candidates definitely need to have the skill set to become a successful Chef.

Some of the expected skills from a chef are:

- Love for food and interest in cooking
- An observant individual who could look in for the details from the recipe
- Innovation in preparatory process and Creativity in presentation
- Sense of taste and smell
- Good stamina and people management skills
- Co-ordination and communication skills
- Good personality etc.
