Q.  What is the position of a particle A, if it moves along a path y = 2x3 / 3 with uniform velocity of 15 m/s?

    Given: vx = vy, path traveled by a particle = y = 2x3 / 3, uniform velocity = 15 m/s

    Solution:

    y = 2x3 / 3

    vy = (2/3) x (3 x2 vx)

    On further simplifying the equation we get,

    vy = 2x2 vx

    Given condition, vx = vy

    Therefore, 1 = 2 x2 and x = 1/ √2 = (0.707)

    Substituting the value of x in the given equation,

    y = (2/3) (1/√2)3

    y = 0.235

    (x = 0.707, y = 0.235)
