    but how we can say worm gear as non parallel axes connecting gear ...bcoz axes may or may not be non parallel ...and i think most of the time it is used for parallel and 90 degree axes

    The shaft axes of worm gears and hypoid gears are perpendicular and non-intersecting. Generally hypoid gears are used if the offset between two perpendicular and non-intersecting axes is very small. Mechanical efficiency reduces as hypoid offset increases. Hypoid gears transmit high torque. Worm gears connect skewed shafts and consist of worm and worm wheel.
