    - Devices which convert one form of energy into another form of energy are known as energy conversion devices.

    - I. C engines, gas and steam turbines convert heat into work and boilers, heat exchangers such as evaporators and condensers are used to convert heat energy into heat.

    - Work is converted into heat energy by the frictional devices, as friction in turbines which is a part of work produced is used to overcome friction and is converted into heat.

    - Air motors, compressors, etc are used for converting work energy into work. For example, potential energy is converted into kinetic energy when water flows from higher reservoir to lower reservoir.
