    - Thermodynamic properties which represent a system are known as properties of a system. The types of properties are as follows:

    1) Extensive property: It is defined as the property of system in which it depends upon size and mass of the system.

    - Length, volume, different forms of entropy and energies are extensive properties.

    - For example, density is defined as mass per unit volume. It depends upon mass and volume of the system. The ratio of extensive property and mass is called as specific value of that property.

    2) Intensive properties: It is defined as the property of system in which it is independent of the mass of the system. Pressure, temperature are examples of intensive properties.
