Bevel gear and equivalent spur gear are kinematically equivalent. The back cone radius is equal to pitch circle radius of imaginary spur gear.
zp / cos γp is used to calculate (zp') virtual number of teeth on pinion & zg / cos γg is used to calculate virtual number of teeth on gear.
