    - Jaw clutch is a positive clutch which are used to transmit positive drive. These clutches permit driving of one shaft with another shaft with the help of direct contact interlocking jaws.

    - The power and torque transmitting capacity of friction clutches depend and are proportional to coefficient of friction between contacting surfaces.

    - Driving and driven plates in friction clutches are held together due to axial force applied by helical compression springs and the frictional force is used to transmit power.
