    - Durometer is a hardness measuring instrument used to measure hardness of non metallic materials like plastics and rubber. Hardness value of the test specimen is measured directly on dial. It is based on the principle of measuring the hardness considering the measuring depth of indentation.

    - Brinell hardness test is used to measure hardness of soft and ductile materials. This tester is automatically and manually operated and measures hardness on the basis of measuring indentation area because, area of indentation is directly proportional to resistance offered by metal for indentation.

    - Torsion test is used to determine value of modulus of rigidity. It also determines ultimate shear strength of metallic specimens. During torsion test the test specimen is twisted to a specified degree with some force until the specimen fails in torsion.
There are three forms of torsion test which include failure, proof and operational.

    - Erichsen cupping test is used industrially to determine formability. Formability is related with ductility of metals. This method is useful to find the ability of sheet metal for deep drawing.
