    - Acceptance sampling is applied to incoming materials or parts, partially finished products, etc to determine acceptability of items.

    - Types of acceptance inspection carried are:

    1) Total inspection
    2) Sampling inspection

    - Acceptance sampling involves risk for manufacturer and consumer.

    - It is difficult to represent characteristics of entire lot. In this method limited items are inspected and the entire lot is accepted or rejected depending upon the limited items inspected.

    - Inspection sampling provides less information as compared to 100 percent inspection.

    - Wrong decisions are rarely made by the workers due to less monotony and fatigue.
