    Correct answer is B
If there is all pairs are lower pair of a kinematic chain then 4 pairs required to make a chain.
But, if there is atleast one higher pair involved then minimum 3 pairs required to make a kinematic chain. Cam and follower is example of a kinematic chain and it includes total 3pairs.

One higher pair = two lower pair.

Kinematic pairs: Two elements or links when connected together having constrained motion are called as kinematic pairs.

Kinematic chain: An assembly of rigid bodies which are connected by joints forms a kinematic chain. In kinematic chain, relative motion of a point on a link with respect to other point on another link follows a definite direction.

    - The minimum number of kinematic pairs required in a kinematic chain are four. A structure is formed, if three kinematic links are connected to each other. The kinematic links in a structure cannot have relative motion between them.

    - Kinematic pair is formed by two links which forms a part of kinematic chain.

    - Four bar chain, slider crank chain, etc are examples of kinematic chain.
