    Given: γp = 25o, Φ = 15o, P = 20 kW, Vm = 5 m/s

    Formula: Axial force on pinion (Fa) = Ft · tan Φ · sin γp ----- (1)

    Ft = P / Vm
    = 4000 N

    Therefore, substituting the value of Ft in equation (1) we get,

    Axial force acting on pinion = 452.96 N
