    Hi the formula you have used is wrong.
    The formula should be
    Range along the plane =(2 *(u^2) * sina / g cos?) x cos (?+a)

    I think deepak is right. I also come up with an answer of 189.89 m

    R=2(50²sin35)(cos55)/
    (9.81cos²20)
    R=189.89 m

    Given: velocity = 50 m/s, θ = 20°, α = 35°

    Formula: Range along the plane =(2 u2 sinα / g cos2θ) x cos (θ+α)

    Solution:

    Range along the plane =(2 u2 sinα x cos (θ+α)) / g cos2θ

    = (2 x 502 x sin 35°x cos (35 + 20)) / 9.81 x cos2 20)

    = 218.89 m

    The range on the plane is equal to 218.89 m when the ball is thrown in upward direction.
