Attenuation : It refers to any reduction in the strength of a signal. It occurs with any type of signal whether digital or analog. It is a loss of signals energy. It is a natural consequence of signal transmission over long distances.

Distortion : It is the undesired changes in the waveform of signals. It is an alteration of a signal.

Noise : It is a external energy that corrupts a signal. It generally takes place in the transmission mediums when electric current is passed through them.
