    know there are two type of response in harmonically excited vibration;
    1) transient response : response to homogeneous solution of system. and they are damped response of the system
    2) steady state response: response to particular solution of the system. and they are undamped response of the system.
    mathematically
    total response = homogeneous response + particular response
