    - When links or elements of a kinematic chain are fixed then it can be used to transmit or transfer motion.

    - The primary function of mechanism is motion transmission. The function of machine is to transmit or transform energy. A machine is formed when various links are designed in such a way that they can withstand forces to which they are subjected. A machine is mechanism but every mechanism cannot be a machine.

    - Type-writer, lock, etc. are examples of mechanism.
