    -Rigid couplings: These couplings are used to connect perfectly aligned shafts.

    - Rigid couplings do not tolerate misalignments and are not even capable of absorbing shocks.

    - Different types of rigid couplings used are: Muff or sleeve coupling, clamp coupling and rigid flange coupling.

    - Clamp and sleeve couplings are used for line shafts and rigid flange coupling is used for connecting electric motor to the pump and compressor.

    - These couplings are less expensive.
