Job Interview

Tips to succeed in a job interview

Have you applied for a job opening and waiting for an interview call? Here are some of the tips which you can follow to ensure that you succeed in your job interview.

Dress neatly

Don't go to attend an interview in a clumsy way. A repulsive dressing reduces your chances of selection to half. Reach the interview venue a little early, relax for 5- minutes, freshen up yourself, adjust your dress properly and wait for your turn to come.

Go prepared

When you start hunting for a job, you must ensure that you are updated with the information in your field. Nothing more will embarrass you more than not being able to answer the questions based on what you have studied in college or have practiced during the last jobs.

Be courteous and confident while entering the interview room

When you are called for an interview, knock at the door and enter the room gracefully. Greet the interviewers and wait for them to ask you to sit. Maintain your confidence during the interview and keep a smile on your face.

Hear the questions carefully and reply in an audible voice. If you dont know that answers to any question, admit politely rather than giving wrong answers. Intelligent guesses are always welcome.

Almost all interviewers start with tell us something about your self. Be prepared to answer this question.  The answer to this question should be broken up into three parts i.e. your professional background and work experience, your educational qualifications and a little background about your family.

Try to relate your work experience and qualifications with the job requirements.

When given a chance to ask questions to the interviewers, ask interesting questions like the scope for you to grow in the company, expansion plans etc. Do not sound like a dumb by saying that you don't have anything to ask.

Greet everybody politely before leaving the interview room.

Follow up with the relevant person after 10-12 days of the interview.
