Brillio Gets Brilliant: Acquires Analytics Start Up Marketelligent


US based IT solutions firm Brillio has just acquired Bangalore based startup Marketelligent. The latter is a data analytics startup. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. Around 100 employees from Marketelligent will join Brillio. The latter company has its headquarters in New Jersey. Founded by Roy Cherian and Anunay Gupta in the year 2007 and it is an analytics consultant firm which operates across sectors such as retail, consumer packaged goods, customer relationship management and media. Roy is an IIM alumnus with extensive experience in three sectors namely media, marketing and advertising. Anunay comes to the corporate sector in India with 18 years of the work experience from financial space having previously worked at Citi and American Express.

This data analytics firm provides knowledge and insights as well as patterns and correlations to leading firms such as Dell, CocaCola and American Express among others. Brillio is headed by Raj Mamodia and it provides consultancy services across IT verticals. This company has emerged from another company called Collabera last year. Around USD 70 million has been earmarked by the company for gaining strategic stakes in niche technology companies.

From Frrole to Bookpad, many acquisitions and deals have been observed in India by global firms according to recent media reports. Other deals which had positive implications for the Indian companies through international interest include Altruist Technologies,FirstSource Solutions and Cyient Limited.Brillio emerged from Collabera which is an international IT company. It is a spin off company from the USD 100 million IT solutions group. The IT company will focus on improvement of competitive advantage for customers through technology which can be used in the real world.

Brillio has a Fortune 500 client base and it aims at three critical areas namely innovation, business agility and renewed IT efficiency. Mamodia leads a global team of corporate leaders who are focused on creating an ecosystem which is innovative and encashes on R&D for the development and growth of the sector.

With this acquisition, Brillio has aimed for closer collaboration and links in this sector. It is aiming for a strong corporate presence where the buzzword is innovation. Brillio also has offices in Bangalore, the Silicon Valley and London. Innovation and collaboration has driven this company into the Indian IT space.
