Should foreign artists be banned from working in Bollywood?

Many international stars have always been attracted to India. The audience still remember actress Patten with love who appeared in the blockbuster movie "Rang De Basanti". However, there are some people who are against the participation of foreign artists in Bollywood. Even the members of CINTAA do not want to entertain the participation of foreign artists in Indian movies. Do you agree with the members of CINTAA? Should foreign artists be banned from working in Bollywood?

Yes

• The major problem lies with the Pakistani artists. The border tensions also have an impact on the professional relationships.

• India itself has a huge pool of talent in all fields, and therefore it doesn’t require artists from foreign countries in Bollywood.

• PM Modi is campaigning for ‘Make in India’. When he wants to focus on manufacturing in India, why should we open all gates for foreign people in other industries?

• The participation of foreign artists can pose a threat to the popularity and jobs of the Indian artists.

• The participation of junior foreign artists who work as dancers snatches away the job of many junior local artistes.

• The union had rule against women makeup artists working in bollywood. They even wanted someone to stay in Mumbai for 5 years before they could get into bollywood as makeup artists or in hair do but we openly give opportunities to foreign artists to perform in our movies. Isn't that hypocrisy?

No

• It is narrow nationalism and an undesirable jingoistic attitude of Bollywood that is not justified in any case.

• The talent wherever it comes from should be welcome and encouraged. It should not be prohibited due to nationality of artists.

• The private group CINTAA has no right to decide on whether Bollywood should be open for foreign artists or not.

• There are many developments on technological front that could only be brought in India with the help of foreign artists.

• When Indian artists are not stopped from working in Hollywood, why the unnecessary issue is created in Bollywood?

• The foreign-looking faces fascinate a large group of Indian audiences, and become one of the reasons behind impressive box-office performance.

Conclusion

It is an entertainment industry and such a narrow nationalism behavior in the Bollywood should not be welcomed. In a globalized market, it is not possible to grow in the confined four walls. The participation of foreign talent will only add to the competiveness in the industry. Any prohibitions on foreign artists can discourage international production firms to shoot in India. Moreover, the participation of foreign artists with Indian artists will work an example of peace and collaboration for the rival nations.

  • Foreign artists in Bollywood is something we have experienced and have had the flavour earlier. We are discussing regarding the entertainment industry getting globalised. We do have our artists performing in Hollywood. We don’t restrict them from going abroad and share their talent. Neither do we fear them to get out of our market and get absorbed there. Then what is the necessity to panic the entry of foreign stars in our Bollywood industry.

We do have many benefits starring the foreign national which starts with a huge positive impact on the box-office. The foreigners do capture additional audience who in-turn add to the income by that particular featured film. The foreign actors do have their set of audience in India who definitely drag them to theaters.

The foreign actors into our Bollywood industry also help in our step ahead with the globalization. We can get to know and introduce more advanced techniques and technology into our entertainment industry which could just add-on to the performance level. We Indians are not secluded and need to survive in the world in a social way. We do need to have good relations with others globally and banning the foreign artists will make us deserted at times of need.

In case we fear the loss of charm of Indian artists, then it would definitely be a blunder. We are welcoming the foreign artist just for few movies and not for each and every one. Indian artists can never have any trouble for their performance and chance. And the audience is already set to watch the Hollywood movies and are fans of the foreign stars. Even if we ban their performance in Bollywood, the fan club will make sure to get them to their sight through Hollywood movies. But, that would no way hit the efficacy or functioning of Hollywood. Hence, we should not ban the foreign artists in Bollywood.

  • Restrain a talent shows a narrow nationalism and undesirable jingoistic nature , it would gives a bad impression of India to restrain the talent from the outer countries , as world knows India respects all the culture , all kinds of people and there talents so , if India do such kind of restrictions then it would spoil our image over the world .
