Android Versus iOS

Android Versus iOS

Are you looking to buy a Smartphone? You will then have a tough time to decide whether to buy an iOS-powered or Android running Smartphone. Both the companies are launching new upgrades of their operating system. Apple has already launched the latest version iOS with improved features in September. Google is gearing up to launch its latest upgrade Android L soon. So, in the fierce battle of Android and iOS what you prefer? Which one is better: Android or iOS?

Android

• Android is the most vastly used Smartphone platform in the world. It is used by several phone manufacturers whereas iOS runs only on Apple devices.

• Android always offers better battery life versus iOS versions, especially when users play with its apps for longer time.

• Google is very much connected to the web, and therefore it becomes easy for the users to choose browser tabs, document file and other content. The synchronization feature of Android beats iOS.

• Android provides a single icon to clear all active items on all devices whereas it is not the same case with iOS notifications.

iOS

• When it comes to security, iOS offers much enhanced security features compared to Android. Google’s operating system is believed to be more vulnerable to mobile malware infiltration.

• The latest upgrade of iOS has got the feature of interactive notifications that allows users to see the new updates without any external app. Android tried to implement the same feature but failed to match iOS level.

• The buttons on iOS new version appear to be expanded all the time. However, it has got quick-reply capability. iOS native functionality beats Android here.

• The design has remained the power point of iOS operating platform, and the new version has got a clean look with glass effect staying prevalent.

Conclusion

It is clear that both Android and iOS are trying hard to fetch a larger pie of market share by improving their older versions. The battle continues and can get fierce in the near future. Both the operating platforms have got own set of pros and cons. However, the utility largely depends on the user and its personal perception. Still, Android occupies first slot in the United States with a 51.5% market share whereas iOS trails Android with 42.4% market share.

  • Both Android and iOS have done remarkably well in order to the majority of the market share. Android had been a larger platform used by all the mobile operators except Apple. This point of having the copyright of iOS being only with Apple has fetched it the negative impacts equally as that of the positive utilities.

There was a time when Android lack the race behind and iOS being a special platform with Apple had shown and covered the market worldwide. People were more enthusiastic to know the functioning of the software and Apple in itself had a good reputation for product efficiency and look. Using the Apple product used to be more of a status symbol.

With the evolution of Android, Apple has lost its charm. People could taste the similar effects without going for the hyped Apple and iOS software. When we get to compare both the software platform, both run neck-to-neck in their applications and presentation. Android is definitely more user friendly with its easy synchronization ability which definitely hits the Apple products.

iOS is the original version which initiated such a mobile software, and this will retain its effect and charm in hearts of many. Still when we analyse as per the majority, Android has its big cut of the cake and will continue to have the same.
