This is the most heated topic in India today. Should government give up its control over CBI or let it run as an individual unit? Why is the government not letting go off CBI? There are many questions running in the mind of general public that need to be answered by the government.

For

- By giving up the control on CBI, it will be ensured that CBI will not be influenced by the actions of government which is necessary for CBI’s efficient functioning.
- CBI will become a strong and independent institutional body which will give it powers to take actions to make India corruption free.
- It is very important for CBI’s just and fair investigation.
- Giving up on CBI would mean that many corrupt politicians will come under light and fair justice can be done.
- CBI should be given independent powers which should be used for the welfare of the citizens of India and not for protecting corrupt politicians.

Against

- The matters of national security can’t be left into the hands of an organization unless it is controlled by government.
- CBI being an autonomous unit might not function properly after getting liberty and all the powers from the government.
- It might become just another police agency doing no substantial in ensuring the health of our national economy.

CBI should work as a sovereign unit and should work towards the betterment of the people of India. It’s high time that the corrupt faces working within the government be unmasked. CBI should listen to the plea of the people and should try to solve their grievances rather than working for a corrupted and inefficient politicians.
