Internet censorship is the control or clampdown of the broadcasting of, or access to information on the internet.

For:

- With the information available on the internet through posts and images can be accessed by employers, school administration as well as identity thieves, spammers and stalkers and can be used without being in the knowledge of the individual
- Social networking sites are used to provoke the individuals against the government by using tactics which are not accepted in the real world
- Social media is also being used by terrorist and racist organization to hurt people’s emotions and emitting hate against the caste, religions and races
- Sexually explicit content will also help in reducing rapes and eve teasing as well
- By censoring the content on internet, we can be unperturbed as to what content will they be viewing and what would be the effect on the mind

Against:

- Internet being a free medium can be accessed by anyone and anywhere, and if there is censor attached to the internet, the public will lose its right to speech and right to information as well
- Today is the age of information and a lot of school and college projects require them to research on the internet and collect data, in the case of censorship being applied on the content they might not be able to access the data
- With the help of social networking sites, people being in any part of the country, they are able to connect and stay in touch. If there is censorship then they might not be able to connect with each other

Conclusion:

- The internet content should be censored but there should be limitations to it for example, censorship on sexually explicit content or porn.
- It is the only medium through which people are able to express their opinions.
