The government should divert its funds from IITs and IIMs to primary schools

India is still in the developing stage, where the literacy ratio is still below average. The infrastructure in primary schools, especially in the rural areas is in a very poor condition.

For:

- The focus of the government should be on the education of the poor rather than on a trivial cluster of population
- Individuals graduating from IIT’s and IIM’s are often seen that they prefer seeking jobs out of India and serve some other countries
- If the focus of government is on the primary education , then India will be completely known for it being a democratic country
- Parents who can afford are sending their children to premier institutes like IIT and IIM, so why should we put in funds in these institutes

Against:

- India still being in the development stage, we need to showcase our talent on international platforms so as to gain recognition and reputation in the world and hence it is necessary to promote and fund student’s education in IIT and IIM
- Although IIT and IIM students are drifting away from India, but their hard earned money is coming back to Indian economy
- In the current scenario, youngster’s education is of utmost importance as it would lead to further development of the country

Conclusion:

- To support the tag of “India is a democratic country” we need to focus our attention as well as funds to primary education by having netter facilities and infrastructure for the poor as well
- Though it is necessary to have an international stand which is mostly gained through student passed from premier institutes like IIT and IIM, but still the primary education should not be ignored completely.
