Are there any scholarship programmes for students pursuing CA?


Definitely, there are numerous scholarships offered to students who are pursuing CA. They are based on Merit, Merit-cum-Need, Need and weaker sections and scholarships under endowment schemes.

1. In Merit Scholarships, students who are ranked from 1 to 10 of the respective merit list of CPT. Students appearing in IPCC every year are selected for award of Merit Scholarship of Rs.1500/- and Rs.2000/- per month respectively. Rank holders of CPT who have registered for IPCC will get a scholarship for a period of 18 months while the rank holders of IPCC will get scholarships for a maximum period of 30 months/remaining period of their internship.

2. In Merit-cum-Need based scholarships, all students (other than the ones under Merit Scholarship) whose names appear in the Merit list of rank holders of the CPT/IPCC and whose parents’ total income is not more than RS. 1,50,000/-p.a. are eligible to apply for this kind of scholarship. The students selected will be granted Rs. 1,500/- per month for 18 months to CPT rank holders who have enrolled into IPCC and for a max period of 30 months to rank holders of IPCC. Total of 60 scholarships are awarded under this category.

3. Need based and weaker section scholarships are the scholarships awarded to students who have applied for IPCC and final CA exam and the income of their parents is not more than 1,00,000/- p.a. they are also awarded Rs. 1250 for 18 months for CPT merit student and the same amount for 30 days to IPCC appearing students. Total 200 scholarships are awarded per year under this category.
Also 2 scholarships are awarded every year to physically handicapped students. There are various other scholarships awarded to different students depending on their needs and ability.
