Bajaj Campus Placement - Procedure and Information


The Bajaj group comes under the top 10 business group in India and has its wings spread across all the spheres spanning automobiles, home appliances, travel, finance and education as well.

To recruit fresher’s for their various companies, the Bajaj Group often visits college campus across India for the placements plan. The interview format remains mostly the same starting with a written test which is for 53 marks; wherein 25 questions are based on technical, 28 questions on aptitude. The next round is of the group discussion round which is usually held for 30 minutes and lastly the personal interview round.

Some of the sample questions asked in the written test is:

1. Some bullets were equally distributed between three friends. All the three friends shot 4 bullets each, the total number of bullets is equal to the bullets each had after division. Find the original number of bullets divided amongst the three friends.

2. One of Mr. Bajaj, his wife, their son and Mr. Bajaj’s mother is an interior designer and another is architect, If the interior designer is a male, then the architect is a male. If the interior designer is younger than the architect, then the interior designer and the architect are not blood relatives. If the interior designer is female, then she and the architect are blood relatives. Can you tell who are the architect and the interior designer?

3. There are 3 people, A, B and C. On some day, A lent cars to B and C as many as they had, after a month B gave as many cars to A and C as many as they have. After a month C also did the same thing. At the end of this transaction each one of them had 24. Find the cars originally each had with them.

4. There are 9 gold coins. Out of which one is odd one, i.e. weight is less or more. How many iterations of weighing are required to find the odd gold coin?

5. The state of a liquid during evaporation is:

a. Vapour b. steam c. water vapour

Answering questions based on the passage, wherein the passage was based on the investment options of Tata motors and questions based on data interpretations.

In the Group discussion round, out of 30 minutes, 10 minutes are compulsory preparation round and the rest 20 minutes are the discussion round. Usually case studies are given to the candidates to discuss, for example, ways to introduce readymade roti’s in the market? Or what new invention of machines can be made to introduce quick roti making techniques at home.

The final round is the Personal interview round where in questions are based on the educational qualification, personal background and certain technical knowledge based on the profile you are applying for.

The main quality of candidates that is being tested is their confidence and attitude towards work as well as life, problem solving and analysing capabilities. In the written test since there is negative marking you need to be careful while answering the questions so that you do not lose your marks in negative marking. The negative marking is of 0.5 marks for every negative answer.
