I want to find out if there are any journalism courses available through distance learning or online. Also, please let me know about my career options after pursuing a course in Mass Communication and Journalism?

Answer - In India, there are around 32 universities that provide distance courses in Journalism. Sikkim Manipal University provides the best course in distance education. It aims to provide the basic journalistic skills of various mass media. The semester fee is Rs 12,450 only and it may be revised from time to time.

Some of the other universities that provide distance courses are:

* Mahatma Gandhi University: BA and Diploma in journalism
* Nalanda Open University: PG Diploma in journalism

Journalism courses are all about practical training than theoretical knowledge. There are very few journalism courses that are available online.
