Do I compulsorily need to do the graduation before taking up the Company Secretary course?

I have done my 10+2 in commerce and scored 80%. I want to pursue The Company Secretary course. Do I compulsorily need to do the graduation? I have heard that a person can do this course even with out the graduation.

It is totally a personal choice but it is advisable to do graduation for better understanding. It’s a distance learning course. There are various plans under which a student can apply for The Company Secretary Course. Also there are a couple of things that vary in all the different plans.

If a student would like to join the course after 10+2 pass or equivalent has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretaries Course i.e. Foundation Programme, Executive Programme and Professional Programme.
If students would want to join the course after completing their graduation they have to undergo two stages of the Company Secretary i.e. Executive Programme and Professional Programme.

Foundation Programme which is of eight months duration can be pursued by 10+2 pass or equivalent students of Arts, Science or Commerce stream (excluding fine arts).

Executive Programme can be pursued by a graduate of all streams except fine arts. Professional Programme can be pursued only after clearing the Executive Programme of CS.
The fees for the course is around Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000. Duration of the course is three years (including the foundation course).

Each of the programmes consists of different subjects related to law, management, accounting, and financial courses, etc.

Students can either appear for the examination for one programme or a combination of these programmes.
