How did you manage to attend this interview during your working hours?

Everybody knows that you would not ask permission from your boss to appear for an interview.
You can answer this question by simply saying that you have taken a off from the office to appear for this interview.

  • The trick is pretty simple with this question. The interviewer indirectly has put forth the question to confirm whether you have notified the present employer about your job hunt or not. There is no need to get confused here. Either you have made up an excuse and called the day off at work or took a few hours off from office. However, you do not have to add the excuse part so simply mention that you took a few hours off. Mention that you finished your important work early or a day before so that you could easily ask for a leave and as expected you got one when you asked them for it. If you adjusted your work with different shifts at work, you can say so. This would put an end to the question in a more simpler terms without having to explain any further.

"I took the day off from work for today. I had competed the important tasks at hand yesterday itself so that I could make myself available for this interview here."
