How is the organisational structure of the marketing department in an organisation devised?


The organisational structure of the marketing department depends upon the size of the organisation. Small size firms may just have one or two marketing employees while large size firms may have several marketing employees. The marketing department may generally comprise of :

a. The Vice President of marketing: who is responsible for the functioning of the entire marketing department and to whom other marketing employees are accountable.

b. Marketing manager : who formulates the marketing strategies and reports to the vice president of marketing. Other marketing employees may report to him.

c. Market researchers: who research on the product and present their information on their findings to the company.

d. Public relations officers : who act as the spokesperson and the liason between the company and outsiders.
