What is Management Aptitude Test (MAT)?


Candidates seeking an admission to MBA and allied programmes in different Business schools, can do so by clearing a standardized test which is Management Aptitude Test (MAT). MAT is a national level test that is approved by Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

There are number of business schools, both at national and international level that considers MAT scores for admission in the MBA programmes offered by them. As per the latest updates there are around 600 business schools across India that accepts MAT scores for admission.

When is MAT conducted and in a year how many times is MAT conducted?


Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is usually conducted four times in a year.

MAT is usually conducted in the month of February, May, September and December.

What are the qualification and eligibility criteria for appearing in Management Aptitude Test (MAT)?


Candidates, who want to appear in Management Aptitude Test (MAT), must have cleared graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or the candidate should have equivalent recognized degree.

Candidates in their final year / last semester of under graduation which may be BA, BSc, BCom, BTech.etc, can also apply for MAT, they can apply provisionally and will have to submit the requisite documents at the time of admission in the institute.

The minimum percentage that are required in the graduation degree for appearing in MAT are different for different Management Institutes / Universities, so the candidate has to refer to the prospectus of the particular Management Institutes / Universities for the details.
