I want to pursue my post-graduation outside India, is there any scope of food technology in abroad?


Pursuing your education abroad is a good career move in the field of food technology. Majority of food products that we consume are manufactured by a foreign based food companies. So you can first pursue your studies in a good university and after that you can look for a job in your field. You can work as a quality control co-ordinator, production manager, delivery manager, development manager and so on. You will have to perform a similar task in which you will have to monitor the production of food item right from the state when it’s a raw material till its packaging and supply.

You can also carry on with your studies and work as a research associate or a scientist in a research institute and carry out changes in the processes used in food industry in order to make them better.

Food technologists are in great demand in the food based industry and hence they get placed in food processing companies, food manufacturing companies, hotels etc. On an entry level one can expect anywhere between Rs.10,000 – 15,000 however, as you gain experience you get promotions and appraisals the salary also increases. The salary also depends on the size of the organisation and the economic state of the country.
