What is Forensic Science?


Forensic science is the study that combines criminal investigation with laboratory findings and works. It deals with the legal aspect of solving the cases. Forensic science provides scientific evidences which are to be used in the court of law and in trials and investigations of the criminal scenes, thus helping in getting solutions to the legal problems. Forensic science takes help form all the streams of science, viz. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Medicine.
Various scientific methods and principles are to be used to investigate and solve the crime scenes.

Forensic science professionals work in laboratory sciences which includes biology, toxicology, fingerprint collection, questionnaire and gathering of impressions.
In forensic medicine part the professionals deal with pathology, psychology, psychiatry, dentistry and medicines.
Field sciences category of Forensic Science includes investing the crime scene and to gather the clues. Different evidences are collected and are preserved for presenting the same in the court of law to solve the case.
