What is the work like?

You can either work as a general fitness trainer or can go into specialisations such as Aerobics, naturopathy or yoga. A fitness trainer can undertake different roles:
- Gym Instructor: A gym instructor works for a group of people in a gym and by subtle and in depth study of each case, and suggests them nuances of fitness.
- Personal Trainer: The most lucrative of all options, a personal trainer tailors fitness regime, including diet, workout schedule and training on one on one basis. They are exclusively associated with particular clients, who want privacy while they work out, either at the club or at client’s place.
- Aerobics Instructor: As the name suggests, an aerobics instructor specialises in aerobics. He conducts rigorous work out sessions, which involve aerobics, muscle stretching and muscle conditioning exercises. For this you might associate yourself with a gym or can also open your own studio.
- Clinical Exercise Specialist: Much like a physiotherapist, he assists his patients to overcome physical injuries, or help them in moving the parts which have jammed due to some injury or some accident.
- Sports Instructor: They mentor both professional, non professional and amateur athletes on individual basis. Not only do they train these athletes in various outdoor and indoor games by organizing, instructing, training and leading athletes but they also sometimes train them on various marshal arts and self defence activities such as Judo Karate, Taekwondo, etc. They judge the competency of the athletes and the opposing team and accordingly (taking into consideration, all the pros and cons) device the strategy of the game which is to be followed by the players.
- Yoga and Naturopathy Trainer: More and more people are day by day inclining towards holistic cures which are free from side effects and have lingering positive effects. A career in Naturopathy and yoga promises a bright future. The trainers can work in academic Institutions, hospitals or as independent consultants and instructors. Alternatively you can also work for well off clients, who for some health reasons or some other reasons are unwilling to join a public gym.
