Urban poor having an annual household income of up to Rs. 1 lakh will be classified as EWS (Economically weak section) and those falling between Rs. 1 lakh and 2 lakhs would be categorized as LIG (Lower Income groups). Rajiv Rinn Yojana (RRY) addresses their housing need through enhanced credit flow. It provides interest subsidy of 5% on loans granted to EWS and LIG categories to construct their house or extend the existing ones.
