Different types of sampling methods are:

    1) Simple random sampling
    2) Systematic sampling
    3) Stratified sampling
    4) Cluster sampling
    5) Sampling in stages

    - Stratified sampling method is used when simple random sampling method becomes inconvenient to use in large lots.

    - This method divides entire lot into sub-lots. They are classified according to factors which lead to variation in product quality.

    - Later on sub samples are selected in such a way that the size of sub sample selected is proportional to sub-lot size.
