    - A rigid body is represented by dynamically equivalent system because it simplifies the analysis of mechanism.

    - A rigid body is replaced by an equivalent system consisting of two masses m1 and m2 . They are placed at a distance of l1 and l2 from the centre of gravity.

A two point mass equivalent system should satisfy the following conditions shown below:

    1) m = m1 + m2

    2) m1 l1 = m2 l2

    3) IG = IG1 + IG2

A two point mass statistically equivalent system satisfies only first two conditions i.e

    1) Mass of rigid body is equal to mass of rigid body

    2) Center of gravity of two masses coincides with centre of gravity
