    The mechanical strength required to withstand green compact without damaging the sharp edges or fractures, the process of ejecting the die or handling the part for the purpose of quality control measurements and also the process of transferring the part to sintered surface is all considered and called as green strength.

    Three-point transverse rupture test and radial crushing test are the two tests used to determine green strength. If three-point transverse rupture test is used to determine green strength the following formula is used:
    S = (3ωL) / (2BT2)
    here,
    S = Green strength measured in lbs / in2
    L = Distance between supporting ends
    B = Width of specimen in inches
    T = Thickness of specimen in inches
