Given: Number of teeth = 30, module = 5 mm

    Formula: Tool width = m T sin 90° /T

here, m = module and T = number of teeth

    Solution:

    Tool width = m T sin 90° /T

Substituting the given values we get,

    Tool width = 5 x 30 sin (90° / 30)

    = 7.850 mm

Tool width of the flank is 7.850 mm.
