    - The Ultrasonic Machining has various industrial applications due to its safe and noiseless operation.

    - The tool used in USM process is made of soft material and oscillated at the frequencies of the order 20-30 kHz.

    - USM tool oscillates normal to the workpiece and drives the abrasive particles into the workpiece.

    - Some of the applications of USM process are as follows:

    1. Dentistry work like drilling fie holes of particular shape in teeth, as USM process is safe and noiseless.

    2. Machining of brittle materials as well as the materials which are hard to machine.

    3. Tool and die making

    4. Some machining operations like threading, grinding, milling etc.
