    - Each function of a system is represented by a block in block diagram.

    - A corresponding block of an element is drawn by inserting a transfer function of that element inside the block as the block diagram represents the relation between input and output of the system.

    - One block in block diagram representation corresponds to one element of the system.

    - As per the sequence of operation of the system, all the different blocks are interconnected to each other.

    - The lines are used to connect the blocks. These line are called as branches of the system.
