    - FEC is a technique used for controlling errors in data transmission over unreliable communication channels.

    - FEC gives the receiver the ability to correct errors without needing a reverse channel to request retransmission of data.

    - FEC is accomplished by adding redundancy to the transmitted information using an algorithm.

    - FEC focuses on where are the packets going. FEC keeps record of packet source and destination. Because while transferring the packets, if an error occurrs they need appropriate path of those particular packets.
