Should article 370 be abolished?

As BJP released its election manifesto the one thing that attracted every one’s attention is the commitment of BJP to abrogate the article 370 in its manifesto. Article 370 and the debate to keep it or abrogate it not something that has started with this election. It has always been a topic of discussion. Political leaders keep on bringing the topic for their own benefits. But, as an Indian citizen, what do you think? Should article 370 be abolished or it should be retained?

Yes, Abolish it.

• It is a fact that Article 370 has brought no good to the common people and has encouraged the anti-national sentiment in the people.

• It has hampered the industrial development in the area as it clearly bans any kind of outside investment in the states.

• Apart from the denial of setting the industrial units, it also denies outsiders to buy land in the valley.

• No investment means that there is no industrial development. It means that there are no job opportunities for the skilled youngsters.

• Due to the lack of the opportunities the youngsters have to move out of the sate to find another source of income. If it continues then the valley will be left with the old aged people.

• The unemployment in the region is giving rise to the militancy in the area as the unemployed gets attracted easily to any source of income.

No, retain it

• As per the National Conference it is the only bridge that is connecting the state and the Indian Union.

• Jammu is still called as Duggar Pradesh and it is possible only because of the Article 370.

• Article 370 is not about creating differences between the different cultures but it is basically about preserving a culture and its identity. It protects the traditions of the valley.

• Political parties are not ready to debate on it as it is considered as a sensitive issue and therefore directly abolishing it can cause serious instability in the country.

• Article 370 is about offering liberty to the state and it is a wise idea. Central control is not the solution of any problem.

• It is the Article 370 that has managed to keep the valley in the in the Indian Union's fold.

Conclusion

If you look at the aspect of industrial development then seriously it is the time to bring some changes in the state as it is affecting the local people. But again it is necessary to assess all other implications that the abolition of article 370 can lead to in the country. The best way is to have an open debate before making a final decision on it. It is the question of peace in state and should not become a political agenda.
