India should now move on to bi-party system

The political scenario in India is in a very reprehensible state. Is this because of the prevailing multi-party system? Or should we resent to bi-party system.

For:

- The bi-partite system would lead to certain stability in the prevailing political system which is currently abstaining from the multi-party system
- By implementing the bi – party system, there would be a decrease in the vagueness amongst the public to take decision as to which party should be vested with power
- A multi – party system promotes complexity in making and implementing policies, which will be eradicated if the bi – party system is adopted

Against:

- The multi – party system gives some credibility as well as alternatives to the general public
- Direct democracy would bring in an aspect of healthy competition into politics
- With only 2 parties in the scene, will be an deterrent obstacle in the development of the nation
- A multi-party system gives an option of having multiple ideas to improve the nation which is completely ruled out if a bi party system exists, as it will restrict the flow and the number of ideas
- It also increases miscellany

Conclusion:

- A multi – party system will though create confusion and complexities of implementing policies for the betterment of the nation but then we should be open to ides. By implementing the bi – party system we would restrict the flow of ideas which could not go in the favour of the nation
- At the end of the day, what matters is that the parties and the leaders involved should have their focus set on the development of the country.

  • Almighty India Movement (AIM) is a movement for prescribing political and administrative reforms for good governance and making India almighty. One of its agenda is introducing Bi-party system of politics and government in the place of multi-party system. Now a days in India governments are formed by coalition of more than one party after election, or as a pre poll exercise –even well in advance prior to election- political parties are grouping themselves and form alliances for seats /constituencies sharing. So there are two alliances at least in the election fray leaving other minor parties and independent candidates. The inability on the part of major national parties to secure majority of seats to form a government alone is apparent in the Indian political arena as of now. We could see the national political parties unminding of their parties’ agenda, vision, policies etc. knock at the doors and seek the help of petty regional parties. This becomes a regular phenomenon at onset of every election. In the prevailing political environment i.e., going for alliance campaign at people’s mandate or forming coalition government after election, threat of hung parliament, onset of midterm poll due to withdrawal of support by any one of the alliance partners etc. multiparty system is becoming obsolete. Hence the need of bi-party system is felt by the general public which expect stable government for full time mandate. Though parochial minded politicians may object to bi-party system, in the interest of stable government and national progress, switch over to bi-party system of politics is inevitable and we should have it. This is right time for change.
Here the Almighty India Movement advocates two parties by name. (1) National Party of Ladies India (NPLI) and (2) National Party of Gents India (NPGI). The question may arise why this Ladies Vs. Gents. The reason is very simple. Ladies should have equal right as gents in ruling the country. The ladies are nevertheless inefficient in decision making. There were so many instances in the history to quote and living proof at present. Further the women mass need not be at men’s mercy for this and that. When the state is a democratic republic it will be meaningless to have
Republican Party and Democratic Party, like that . The parties need not have specific policies of their own as they have to rule the country by the dictates of the constitution of the nation. The transgender will be given the freedom and choice to choose any one of the parties as they like. The ladies in each ward should form the NPLI at Ward level first and all wards to Village level , all villages to Block level, all blocks to District level to State level and to National level. If the ladies form their NPLI, automatically NPGI will emerge simultaneously. Please Ladies first. Make India almighty under your regime.

  • For:

    - The bi-party system will help the country to move forward with diverse ideas and help in resolve the complex policies.
    - Bi-party system will help individuals to provide their view point about the country and help in their whole development.
    - Bi-party system will allow the parties to have healthy discussions and it will allow the system to rethink of the overall strategy being used by the individuals in the party and the party as a whole.
    - Bi-party system helps in resolving the issues that is being faced by the country and the people who are residing in it. It allows equal chance to be given to all the members who are participating and allow them to gain power.
    - Bi-party system will allow participants easy to govern and leave many choices for them to gain the freedom.
    - It encourages the political stability that is very hard to find in multi-system and it not only supports different viewpoints but also promotes agreement among the legislators.
    - It provides simple voting processes to be followed rather than complex methods as used now and this helps in finishing up the polls at lesser time without creating complex processes.
    - This will also help in lowering down the corruption of the country as only one party will be working towards achieving the goals.

    NO

    - The whole system depends not on the number of parties but the representatives that are getting elected.
    - This system restricts the choices of the parties and limits the ideas hence reduces the voter's choice to vote as the vote will go to a party rather then individuals.
    - Bi-system won't allow the people to choose the correct participants as they need to choose only the party out of the two parties.
    - The political parties representing in the election does not matter much but it is the quality of the representative matters that are getting elected.
    - This system will only increase the ambiguity of the candidates participating in the elections or involved in any party as this setup doesn't ensure a quality group of individuals.

  • India should now move on to biparty system

India is a vast and diversified country through their cultures, religion, language, etc. From the time of independence there was INC (Indian National Congress) as a political party which keeps hold of Indian political system and since then many parties came into existence and played important role in our political system.

A multi-party electoral system consists of different political parties competing with different ideologies. This is the system being followed in India. On the contrary, many of the developed countries follow a bi-party system where only the two largest and well-organized parties see recurring success.

The two party systems like in US are better because it moderates radical views and follows public opinion better than a multi party system would. Both parties gradually shift over time, picking up different combinations of issues in almost every election, and following public opinion. The two party systems follow the majority in public opinion; the multi party system inevitably leads to minority rule over the majority.

The two party system moderates political ideology and protects the majority from the minority. It protects the nation from chaos and rapid reforms of government that either results in an inefficient government because there is little time to realize if the reforms are positive or negative. Even the voter is spared from the chaos from the confusing alliances of a coalition government. These governments have been unstable. Small parties with narrow ideologies force major parties to help them in exchange for their support. This is very unhealthy for an economy like India. In a multi party system, arriving at a consensus and making quick decisions has become difficult.
Thus, a bi-party system will really benefit in a logical development where both parties have broad-based support and are moderate in their approach towards sustainable development through all over india.
