B2X Solutions: Growth Through A Global Network Via The TSS Deal


Munich based customer services software provider B2X Care Solutions is acquiring a majority stake in The Service Solutions (TSS) which is an authorised provider of phone repairs for Apple iPhones in the country. It also provides customer care services on for numerous phone makers on an international scale. B2X is now oriented towards creating a global network for connecting phone makers to the call centres and customers apart from contract manufacturers, part suppliers, insurers and delivery services as well as retailers.

Terms of the TSS deal have not been publicly disclosed. B2X is a privately held firm and it is holding 15 million Euro worth or USD 19 million funding round led by Earlybird. The latter company is a Berlin based venture capital firm which backs European companies with international ambitions and an investment in more than 100 businesses.

Sources quoted by Reuters have said that B2X is doubling in size each year and revenues are beyond USD 100 million in terms of sales. CEO of this company, Thomas Berlemann has been quoted by Reuters as saying his company's software and services are effective in managing repairs as well as spare parts for phones that are within as well as outside the warranty period. There is an estimated combined market opportunity of USD 25 billion here, a Reuters report estimates.

Following the deal, the Munich company is also planning to rebrand the TSS service stores within its own B2X brand. Plans are also afoot to utilise existing TSS store concepts for the creation of retail and service outlets for diverse phone brands at a single store. B2X also said in a statement that the Indian unit of TSS will now expand to the Middle East as well.

TSS consumers at present include Micromax, Samsung, D-Link and HCL Infosystems. The cloud software for the customer relationship management at TSS will now be utilised by B2X for its own software platform for global supply chain management. B2X managers customer service operations in greater than 110 countries for phone repairs, according to Reuters. B2X'sc current customers include Coolpad and Alcatel.

“We couldn’t be happier to announce our funding and acquisition of TSS at the same time. The financing will help us to aggressively grow our engineering and sales efforts in response to the expanding demand for our Smart Service Platform,” said Thomas Berlemann, CEO of B2X Care Solutions, in a statement released to the media.

“For us to be successful in India, we know that it will require very strong local capabilities. TSS is a rising star in India and their cloud based capabilities completes the B2X technology roadmap. In addition, the TSS leadership team has a strong background and is extremely well connected in our industry in India, which opens up great opportunities for future growth,” he also added.
