The dust is settled! General Elections are over. But the question that started during the elections is still running on people’s minds. The question to the Congress by its supporters as to why they didn’t selected Priyanka Vadra instead of Rahul Gandhi? Priyanka Vadra emerged as a strong leader campaigning for her party in Amethi. Seeing her short but noticeable presence, do you think that Congress should have opted for Priyanka over Rahul?

• She is more outspoken and confident. She can articulate her words well while speaking to the media and people.

• In her short span of campaigning people, media or even the opposition parties noticed her. It is a necessary quality to stay in politics. Aggression was also a part of her character.

• She seems to display the charisma of dynastic politics. People are able to connect her with the old Gandhi family.

• Voters see shade of Indira Gandhi in Priyanka Vadra. It might not be 100% important but still it matters.

• Priyanka Vadra was able to represent her individuality in the public. She didn’t need the support of her mother; in fact she became the support of her brother in Amethi.

• Rahul Gandhi failed to communicate with the local people, media and the opposition parties. He was always on the back foot.

• Rahul Gandhi was overshadowed by her mother Sonia Gandhi. People always thought him as a candidate following her mother orders.

• Rahul Gandhi always failed to present his point aggressively in front of the people. If he cannot be firm and clear on his objectives, then in next elections he may not win in Amethi again.

• Rahul Gandhi won by very less margin in Amethi. It was disappointing and even indicated that the last moment campaigning of Priyanka Vadra came handy.

• Rahul Gandhi doesn’t have a political instinct. If he had then he must have given some fight to BJP. But this election it was just one sided game.

Priyanka Vadra has not entered politics but still she manages to mark her presence every time she comes to rescue her brother. Whether it is media or the opposition parties no one can ignore her. If she was the candidate selected by the Congress then surely things won’t have ended so badly for Congress.
